Improve this page! Feel free to draft a pull request on GitHub.
This page offers basic guidance on typesetting a LaTeX document in the Algerian Arabic language using the Arabic script.
Darija or Lahja Djazairia, with tag arq, different
from Standard Arabic as spoken in Alger, with tag ar-DZ.
Support with ini locale file
Here is a minimal sample file with algerianarabic as the main language
(assuming luatex, which is the recommended engine, and babel ≥25.2,
although it may work with previous versions).
\documentclass[algerianarabic]{article}
\usepackage[provide=*,bidi=basic]{babel}
\babelfont{rm}{FreeSerif}
\begin{document}
Local name $=$ اللهجة الجزائرية
Digits $=$ \localenumeral{digits}{0123456789}
\end{document}
