if i remember correctly it was doing basically something like tracingstats=2
and generateing a page at this point thereby showing the mem usage. it was
kind of interesting to get code mem usage stattistics that way, but i doubt
that we will really need those these days with much bigger main mem

let's see if i find the original definition on my disc somewhere and then
decide if that is still or can be useful
