On the other hand some sort of proof of knowledge/quality and also some indication that not everything is being messed up without some prior consultation and agreement would be kind of helpful. Now all that might be difficult to ensure with a person that isn't really known in the scene so to speak. On the other hand why not give it a try and see how this works out. Or we wait a little and just freeze l3doc in the svn and you two work a little longside and if you get the impression that this works out we open up the svn for him.
