I am not "the LaTeX community".
I am just a LaTeX user.

Incidentally, the only thing I said about = freedom
was that from my perspective TeX seems just as = "free" as Linux.

But they are all vetted by Torvalds.
There are also several contributors to the LaTeX = "kernel" --
not so many, certainly, but that is because = LaTeX
is a much narrower project.
(It doesn't have to have a new module
every time some tinpot company brings out a new USB = device.)
