To expand the topic a bit further: I'm still waiting (and hoping) for a (La)TeX implementation that speaks e.g. german and corresponds in measurements understood by a normal (non-TeXnician) user; i.e. instead of Overfull \hbox (2.0pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 140--140 it would output something like Zu volle \hbox (0.7029mm zu breit) im Absatz in den Zeilen 140--140 So what is needed is NLS for TeX and LaTeX. For TeX this should be simple; a change file should suffice. But for LaTeX? The messages are hardcoded into the kernel... :-( Any chance of having something like this in LaTeX3?
