The following directories have been updated at the ctan sites, ftp.dante.de and ftp.tex.ac.uk. (Updates will happen at mirrors overnight, finger ctan@ftp.dante.de for a list of mirror sites.) tex-archive/macros/latex/base or tex-archive/macros/latex/unpacked and tex-archive/macros/latex/packages/tools tex-archive/macros/latex/packages/graphics tex-archive/macros/latex/packages/mfnfss As was announced last November, this `December' released was delayed to allow more testing of a change to the fd file names to make the system more portable. They are now all lowercase (t1cmr.fd, rather than the old T1cmr.fd). This change should not affect any LaTeX document, but should make it much easier to share LaTeX files between case sensitive file systems (such as unix) and case insensitive ones (such as MSDOS, or CDROM formats). The delay has also allowed support for the new `ec' fonts that were released earlier this week to be incorporated into this LaTeX release. As always, a copy of ltnews (ltnews06.tex) has more details of the new features. (In particular details of how to enable support for the ec fonts.) David Carlisle LaTeX3 project
