Somehow I doubt that _TeX the program_ dictates in what manner data should be organized on your disk. They have to be only available when requested. Anyway, many years ago my TeX on Atari ST was using library organization for tfm files as well and undoubtely this was TeX. Most likely emTeX does that same thing. Michal
