I didn't expect such a huge (and heated) response to my two messages! The official word on AmS-LaTeX seems to be that it will be ready in 6 weeks. Yes? I had another thought on languages. After reading the discussion today I remembered an article in TeX & TUG news. In Volume 1 Number 4 there's an article about just this! However, I don't think this is what babel currently does. (?) When will we see this article`s recommendations implemented? (In particular, the two-letter language codes.) The LaTeX2e conference looks interesting, but somehow I don't think I'll be there. Have any of you presenters prepared some slides for your seminars? I'd love to be able to reuse some of them for my local presentation. Oh, that reminds me. Please don't say things like `it will be ready in spring'. For me, spring is September to November. (Frank is especially guilty!) Richard, enjoying another hot *summer* in the antipodes.
