This helps us to - put the report in a maintenance data base - assign the task to somebody - keep a record of what went wrong - etc. In addition, as long as we are running the test release (in other words until spring) you may "misuse" the latex-l list about bugs that you think are important to others or might need discussion. - we will probably not react on latex-l if a fix is already under way However, once LaTeX2e is in full production I would ask to stop using the LaTeX-l list for that purpose.
