Now, this is a good solution, I think. For emphasis on more than
one paragraph it is reasonable to suppose that start and end of
the emphasized text will correspond to start and end of a paragraph,
so we don't need italic correction anyhow.
Could a structure like this not be part of standard LaTeX, and
could not the LaTeX book/companion mention this as a preferred
way of emphasizing?
