Status: R X-Status: X-Keywords: X-UID: 875 Hello LaTeXies, I'm back for a while. (What, you never noticed I was away? Awww Wilbbbuuurrrr :-) Anyway. 1/ A while ago I released my Lollipop format, and from what I remember of the last time I heard a LaTeX3 talk (Rainer in Cork), a lot of duplicated thought has gone into Lollipop and LaTeX3. I'd be interested in opinions about my approach. Conversely, if something is on paper about the style designer interface of LaTeX3 I'd love to read it. (You can get Lollipop from me: ftp it from cs.utk.edu:/pub/incoming/eijkhout/tex, or get it from your favourite archive / mailserv site. What has been archived from the LaTeX3 project and where?) 2/ I just added a bibTeX interface to Lollipop based on Karl Berry's btxmac.tex macros. This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience: no changes to those macros were necessary, and the amount of supplemental definitions in Lollipop was modest. Now I'm interested in maybe adopting a few pieces out of LaTeX(3), to wit the tabular and verbatim environments. (Don Hosek rightly remarked that version 3 of my comment.tex file is largely a recreation of Rainer's verbatim style, so I might as well try to use that.) - Where can I get the most recent versions of these environments? - Is interfaceability to other packages an issue in the LaTeX3 design? Certain parts are of course so closely connected to the essence of a package that it is not possible to separate them, but for more ortho- gonal parts, what is the prevailing thought on this?
