Because of this help it will be possible to distribute a fully documented version sometime next month. His suggestion of adding a more general editor support to doc so that producing the documentation to a style file (or whatever) will additionally (on request) produce an input source for a help system (which may be a smart editor) is certainly worth thinking over. I know that that there are several people around that did work on this very important part within the TeX system and therefore like to direct your attention to his message once more. After all such an addition is only sensible if there are some syntax rules for the style writer to follow so that the resulting hlp file is of use for as many as possible systems. So if you have someideas on this please write to Dave and as he said he will summarise: > Mail me (d.love@dl.ac.uk) direct and I'll summarise if appropriate. cheers Frank Mittelbach ------_=_NextPart_001_01C19443.A5158C8C Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Re: {1} .sty metacomments for smart editors

I like to add that Dave already did a really great job = in documenting
the left alone doc.sty up to its current = version.  Because of this
help it will be possible to distribute a fully = documented version
sometime next month.

His suggestion of adding a more general editor support = to doc so that
producing the documentation to a style file (or = whatever) will
additionally (on request) produce an input source for = a help system
(which may be a smart editor) is certainly worth = thinking over.

I know that that there are several people around that = did work on this
very important part within the TeX system and = therefore like to direct
your attention to his message once more. After all = such an addition is
only sensible if there are some syntax rules for the = style writer to
follow so that the resulting hlp file is of use for = as many as
possible systems.

So if you have someideas on this please write to Dave = and as he said he
will summarise:

> Mail me (d.love@dl.ac.uk) direct and I'll = summarise if appropriate.
