I used plain TeX and added an "\input amstex" at the top of the file. The only thing that didn't work was the loading of the dummy font (which I do not have on this machine). I had no problems running David Rhead's file through = AmSTeX.  I used
plain TeX and added an "\input amstex" at = the top of the file.  The
only thing that didn't work was the loading of the = dummy font (which I
do not have on this machine).

I haven't tried AmS-LaTeX yet.
