My next message to LATEX-L will be a .tex file which, when processed by AMSTeX, gives some suggestions about facilities that might perhaps be provided for such people. Briefly: I think it might be = worth providing some facilities for "chemical typesetting", but that one needs to be careful not to claim to provide facilities for "chemical artwork". I've done these suggestions in the form of a .tex file partly because they're a bit long for a mail message and partly because Malcolm's on the lookout for articles for TeXline, so he could lift it if he thought it suitable. If it was thought that the suggestions were worth taking further, perhaps I should send copies of the article to the American Chemical Society and to the UK's Royal Society of Chemistry. I could report back to LATEX-L on any comments that they might have. (I regret that I wouldn't have the time/ability to produce TeX code to implement the suggestions, though.) David = Rhead P.S.
