Furthermore I think that in this way you start from the wrong end. You/we should start from document type definitions -- what structures in what class of documents? -- and THEN think about which commands to implement. Malcolm Clark has said -- correct me if I'm wrong, Malcolm -- 'SGML needs TeX, and TeX can learn from SGML'. LaTeX also can learn from SGML! Nico
