This means that we have to think about the relation between LaTeX and BibTeX. At the moment the interaction is very simple: There is \citation and \bibstyle and \bibdata in the aux file. First of all, I think it is better when these commands are private, i.e. have a @ in the name. But the main question is what sort of comunnication is really necessary. At the moment it is not possible to have, for example, chapterwise bibliography. I would like to know if you think we should provide this (I do) and if so how. I hope that there will be some answers to this -- it pressing since it might envolve changes to BibTeX. One last thought: if we say that it is sufficent that a style using chapter bibs must use the include mechanism I think a solution is possible with the current BibTeX. Frank
