if this really happens, and in a way that i can understand and remember
and not get lost in mismatched braces, *i* will provide the bottle.
(and i have very good taste in champagne.)

and while i'm making this offer, i ask one other little amenity:
please make it easy for \maketitle to suppress indentation on the
first paragraph of an article, if it's not preceded by a \section (in
which case there's already a defined mechanism).  this having to
remember to put in \noindent in tugboat articles is driving me out of
my poor feeble mind.
